THESE ARE POWERS - TARO TAROT 12"

Finally we are proud to present the vinyl version of Taro Tarot, the follow up to These Are Powers brilliant debut Terrific Seasons that came last year. In that same polluted vein, Taro Tarot mesh organic sounds in real time into the shape of songs through improvisation and collaboration.
This co-ed trio is all about polyrhythmic pummel; guitars imitate industrial noises, drums clack and grind like fixed gears -- they describe themselves as "ghost-punk," but the band’s caustic heaves, shudders and sighs are more mechanical than ethereal. Subsonic bass frequencies are future primitive undercurrents to spectral guitars and banshee vocals. These are hymns over club beats, ragas piggybacking on noise collages, dirges married to dance.
The music is said to echo of old school New York, that No Wave, New York noise, Silver Apples and early Sonic Youth that you all heard and loved. It does, but seriously, it would be far more fair to spice that up with saying that these people used to be in a bunch of brilliant bands like Knife Skills, n0 Things and Liars; That they really know history and have written the future for quite some time... With that in mind, can’t you just feel that sweat starting to moist up your palms? For us, These Are Powers could be that missing link between Deleted Art favourites Big A little a and Sightings. They are indeed hypnotic, mesmerizing and challangeing, all in that adorable Brooklyn way.
This week we have a special deal for the 50 first customers. Taro Tarot can be purchased for only 60 SEK / 6.50 Euro (postage not included).
These are Powers is doing a show here in europe on may 3rd at the DONAUFESTIVAL w/ Magik Markers, Fisherspooner...location: Krems, Austria. If you are around. Dont miss out!
